On the road again

We're officially on the road and well into the trip.

We're in Tulsa, OK grabbing breakfast at IHOP after a brief breakfast adventure (finding a restaurant with room for 40 people at 10 on Saturday morning was proving more difficult than anticipated. We may avoid all Denny's from here on out). It feels good to stretch and move around.

We're making great time! Usually we stop in Missouri for breakfast, but we're well into Oklahoma and already dropped off Sanjay (an international student who caught a ride with us to Tulsa). This group has bladders of steel apparently! It helps that the veterans of the trip have figured out how to dehydrate themselves for the road trip part.

We left Big Rapids at 6:34 last night (only an hour and 4 minutes behind schedule!) and met Mike W. north of Grand Rapids and then picked up Michelle and Derek in Jenison. We met Tech in Normal, Illinois (We were the un-normal people there at midnight!) and have been on the road since. Everyone's attitudes are great, some people have slept and we're excited for pancakes!

One of the best parts of the trip so far was when Van 1 convinced Michelle that Sondra only speaks Spanish and left her in the back seat with her for an hour and a half. Michelle went to school for Spanish, so she was able to interpret better than we anticipated and the joke went on a lot longer than planned! It was a lot of fun!

Van 2 has been sleeping for the most part and Tech is pretty tired from their 8 hour drive to meet us. Now that it's daylight, people will be up and talking, playing Werewolf and Spot It and commandeering the radio.

Thanks for your prayers for us! No one is sick, the vans are all intact and we're having fun. We'll update again later today!
Have a great Saturday!
