Power Packing

Only His House students can cram this much stuff...

Passport, work pants, work shirts, pajamas,  work shoes, hat,  sunblock, chapstick, Bible, sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, anti-bacterial wipes, towel, rain poncho, ear plugs, 1 roll of T.P., hammer, tape Measure, utility knife, tool belt, work gloves, safety glasses or sunglasses, water bottle, pillow. socks, and sweatshirt

...into 1 extra small duffel bag, a drawstring bag, a pillow and a sleeping bag:

Everything that we pack has to be able to fit into the 3 vans that we are driving.  The duffel bags and sleeping bags get packed behind and under the seats, the drawstring bags and pillows are held on our laps.  There is no spare inch of room in any of the vans by the time we're all loaded in.

Yet, in these cramped conditions, some of the best friendships are formed.  More than one couple has met on the Mexico trip and other friendships are strengthened and deepened.  It forces all of us out of our comfort zones and requires us to be vulnerable and open to those around us.

It's not an easy trip and it's not much of a break.  But, there really isn't a better way to spend Spring Break 2013!
