Its hard to believe we're actually on our way to Mexico! This semester is going really fast and it just doesn't feel real that it's spring break already. But, here we are. Somewhere along the road headed for Mexico.
We left Big Rapids around 5:30p (one of our earliest departure times), but only made it to the Big Rapids Wal-Mart before our first stop (Jim was already asking "are we there yet?" and it's only 2 miles down the road). We stood in the Wesco/Wal-Mart parking lot to pray together as a group and then loaded back up and hit the road.
We met Megan, Cassie, Hannah and Peter in Grand Rapids around 7 and Michigan Tech in Bloomington, Illinois around midnight. Along the way, we explored a pretty sketchy Wal-Mart (we didn't even know regular Wal-Marts still existed and kept looking for a deli/produce area before we realized it wasn't a super center!) Wal-Marts make a great rest break for a group this size because there's plenty of bathrooms and food options for everyone.
The trip so far has been really good. The group this year is great about moving fast at stops so we can get back on the road (unless you're Kevin, Cassie or Emma trying to get subs at Subway and it's only the new guy working). We only have one open seat between the 3 vans, but there haven't been any complaints about lack of space.
We're part way through MIssouri now and looking forward to seeing a different state sometime soon :)
